Counselling for Children and their Parents

Parents generally come to see me concerned about their children’s behaviour, often worried that they’re not keeping up at school, or concerned they have signs of ADD, ADHD, dyslexia.

Whatever the issue, healing always starts with offering you and your child a non-judgemental place of safety and acceptance, where you can feel seen, heard and understood.

We can help you with:

  • Anxiety, depression symptoms
  • Managing emotions and big feelings
  • ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia and other learning difficulties
  • Parenting challenges
  • Adjusting to parenthood

Parents and carers play an important role in your child’s healing process. The initial session will be your opportunity to express your concerns about your child and their behaviour.

Depending on your child’s individual needs, counselling sessions may include:

  • Play and/or Art Therapy
  • Craft, painting, games, play, and emotional regulation

Self or plan-managed NDIS participants and Victims Services clients are welcome.

All sessions with children are held in person at Moruya South Head. Zoom calls can be arranged for parent consultations.

Hello, I'm Rosalind

PACFA Registered Clinical Counsellor

Since 2005 I have been helping children with learning and behavioural challenges such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD and other sensory processing difficulties.

I use an holistic, or whole child approach incorporating a development movement program, known as The Extra Lesson. This program addresses underlying immaturities in early development that are contributing to their learning and behavioural challenges.

This is done in  a safe space where children can feel seen, heard and understood, and are free to talk about whatever is worrying them.

Sessions often include play, songs, movement, games, craft and therapeutic painting to support diverse aspects of your child’s development.

In this way we are working together to create lasting change, helping children to realise their potential for living a successful and meaningful life.

Sessions are available online and in person at Moruya South Head.
