Understanding Your Child
Gentle Support for You and Your Child
Hello and welcome
If you’ve found your way here, you may be feeling concerned about your child’s learning and/or their behaviour—or simply wondering how best to support them, doing your best in challenging times.
Parenting can feel confusing, and we all struggle at times. Children don’t come with rule books, and many of us are learning as we go.
Perhaps you’re navigating:
- big emotions or meltdowns
- challenges with school or learning
- difficult mornings or bedtimes
- anxiety, overwhelm, or behavioural challenges
You’re not alone.
Parenting can feel exhausting at times, especially when your child is struggling and you’re not sure how to help.
This is a space to pause and take a breath.
It offers a way of understanding children, by looking beneath the surface of what initially appears – the “why” beneath the behaviour.

f your child is struggling at school, socially or emotionally, these might help with understanding the underlying reasons.
Everyday Routines
Would you like help with establishing a regular bedtime routine?
Morning and bedtimes are often stressful times for families.
You’re not alone if you are feeling overwhelmed.
A Gentle Approach
I believe that behaviour is a form of communication.
It is our child’s way of letting us know that they need help.
The trick is learning how to read it!
My approach is based on the understanding that:
- children need to feel safe before they can learn, and
- connection is at the heart of change
Understanding what is beneath the behaviour, gives us the clues to create the change you are looking for.
